Steenberg Golf Course

Steenberg Golf Course nestles under the Constantia mountains in the Constantia valley and meanders through the vineyards of South Africa's oldest wine farm dating back to the days of Simon van der Stel. The course has a deserved reputation for having the best greens in Cape Town and plays off no less than five different tees; ensuring that the course can be enjoyed by all level of players. The setting adds to the attractiveness of the course; providing glorious views of vineyards, bush and mountain flora.

Steenberg Golf course has a flat layout and the fairways are divided into four distinctive regions, namely Wetlands, Parklands, Cape Flats and Fynbos. These regions take advantage of all natural features and hazards that golfers have to navigate. Some of the features of Steenberg course; is its large waste bunkers, running creeks, water hazards and excellent greens. The first six holes of the course meander through gentle, manicured parkland where, in some instances, tee shots will be played off raised tee boxes amongst the vines. The course then moves into the wetlands, which include the testing par-three 7th hole (signature hole), played to a green surrounded by water. It then enters the Heathland section where white sands "islanding" the fairways are a natural hazard. The par-three, not-so-short 14th hole, features the largest green in Africa at 76 meters in length; indigenous shrubs guard the green and the mound has been shaped to echo the distinctive mountain range behind.

Steenberg Golf Club offers both members and visiting golfers a range of top-class facilities including Halfway House, Locker Rooms, Bar/Lounge, Pro Shop, Restaurant, Club House and Practice Range.
There are also a number of practice areas, including a driving range, chipping area with sand traps and a large putting green.
