Clovelly Golf Course
Clovelly Country Club carries a reputation founded on the warmth of its character, its outstanding facilities, and steps taken to ensure a true reflection of its motto: “Fraternitas Ludorum” (Brotherhood in the Game). Ranking as one of the finest and most picturesque and challenging courses in the Cape Peninsula; it’s a fine blend of testing holes with the Silvermine River and adjacent pools adding to the ambience.
Set in the tranquil Clovelly valley, this relatively short layout, built among sand dunes, rewards accuracy off the tee and provides players with scenic views of the False Bay coastline. Famous for its rolling, computer-irrigated fairways and undulating holes, Clovelly complements its rich coastal environment. Natural sand dunes are all over the course, which is blessed with water features and a wide variety of indigenous fauna and flora. There is no noise intrusion from roads or railways, and both course and club house enjoy privacy and security. This challenging, aesthetically pleasing and immaculately kept golf course is a tight game by South African standards. There are quite a few challenging holes, but one of the best is the par-4 fourth, with out-of-bounds and a stream on the left, and a green guarded by a water hazard.
The golf course and facilities are consistently rated in the top fifty in the country by a leading panel of raters utilized in the annual South African “Compleat Golfer” survey of golf clubs. Facilities include a gorgeous Club House and terrace overlooking the course with bar, lounge and boardroom & function facilities. The estate also hosts a driving range, pro shop and halfway house for golfing enthusiasts.
