Leopard Creek Golf Course
Leopard Creek Golf Course is founded on the values of friendship, a common love of the game of golf and a shared reverence for nature. Drawing from the intricate wealth of nature, Leopard Creek Golf Course is an unobtrusive part of that environment – blending, complementing and enhancing.
Working closely with the Kruger National Park and nature conservation authorities, the Leopard Creek Golf Course was specifically designed to blend in with the surroundings, providing sophisticated leisure amenities in an undisturbed natural environment. Innovative architectural and landscaping techniques ensure that the golf course is in harmony with the environment, while lakes and small streams have been diverted through the development to create scenic vistas and interesting golf strategies. Sightings of crocodile, hippo, antelope, buffalo and wild boar are commonplace, either on the course itself or in or next to the river running alongside several holes. Golfing hazards take on a new dimension at Leopard Creek for much of the water is home to hippos and the creature for which the adjacent river is named – crocodile. To single out a signature hole is brave as there are some memorable holes. Not for the faint-hearted, the par five 18th is not particularly long at 475m but the island green presents a tricky shot over water. The 13th is equally dramatic, with the green 'floating' above the Crocodile River which divides the course from the Kruger National Park. A creek first splits the fairway and then runs alongside the left hand side of the hole. The green is built out over the river, which runs underneath. Perfect Climate Malelane, with its temperate climate, offers year-round attractions – comfort, convenience and informal elegance. The winter season is an especially enjoyable time in Malelane with easy game-viewing and bird-watching, and off course - ideal weather for golf!
The elegant Leopard Creek clubhouse is sited on the bank of the Crocodile River. The lounge leads on to a covered patio – watch play on the 9th and 18th greens or enjoy a leisurely cocktail and a superb view of the animals in the Kruger National Park. A second terrace leading out from a fully equipped bar offers spectacular sunset vistas over the river. An extensive, professional kitchen serves full meals. A fully stocked Pro Shop, well-appointed changing facilities and individual lockers, spike-proof carpeting throughout and covered parking for golf carts cater for the most discerning golfer.
